French Revolution: remarkable autograph letter, deliberately unsigned, by a British spy dated Paris January 27th, 1791, giving a detailed eyewitness account of the events of the French Revolution, 4pp 4to‘…the mob yesterday Destroy demand notwithstanding the fact. Not the whole force of Paris was out. The populace formed barricades. With drays, waggons and carts… Don't. Is feeble. Contemptible. And obliged to court the mob that despises it such is the situation of this town…' It would seem that this letter was sent to London from a British agent in Paris and is a remarkable eye-witness account of the events of the Revolution as they were happening in front of his eyes
