WWI interesting group of alss written by Ralph Gifford to his father Col John Gifford from India in 1915 making extensive comments on the progress of the war, and his frustrations of being kept back in India rather than returning to Europe to fight, two further letters written by a soldier from the 1st Duke of Wellington Regiment, also from India in 1915 making reference to the War in Europe and Afghanistan, an interesting scrap album of WWI vintage poetry - each clipped from a newspaper of the time, and with two loosely inserted manuscript sheets of further poetry (unidentified authors), together with a group of manuscript sheets giving details of a court martial of a serving British soldier in the last days of the WWI.
