Somerset - Lease of an Inn: extensive indenture on nine sheets of parchment dated September 29th, 1815, being the assignment of the lease of an inn called The Swan in Frome, Somerset, together with tenements and other properties, signed and sealed by eight parties to the transaction. Together with a second indenture dated 1807 for the lease of an inn called The Duke of Cumberland, formerly known as The Catherine Wheel in Chippenham, Wilts. Both these inns appear to have long disappeared. The Duke of Cumberland was demolished in 1960, and the present documents provide important information on the history of inns in the West Country
