Rare 1898 Bowdon Golf Club (Est 1890-1950) large Bronze Scratch Medal - inscribed "Sons of Members Under 16 Years of Age-Presented by H Holden 1898" 2.5" dia. mf&g 7.25" x 7.25". Note H Holden held the course record by an amateur golfer with a gross score of 36 which was only beaten by professional F.K Weir on 35 in 1911; and again from 1920-1940s with a gross score of 73 which again was beaten by professional golfer on gross 68. Needless to say Holden was always in the frame winning the club championship, other honour board titles and Monthly Medals. Note: Part Five - Golf Collection from "David Easby Estate"
