ROD: Rare James Aspindale “The Thamesdale” 14’ 2 piece with detachable butt, hollow built split cane river rod, cherry red close whipped, red agate butt/tip rings with high bells intermediates, all whipped gold, tipped red, bronze ferrule, wood stopper, 24” shaped cork handle with wood stopper, alloy reel rings, fully refurbished in 2008 by the late Mike Harris of Kent, in MOB. Note: The vendor had various conversations with Peter Aspindale and was told only 20 rods where ever made; it proved to be a commercial disaster because of their length to transport. Aspindales approached an engineering firm to produce a car top rod holder to alleviate the problem, but costing £2000? to make, it did not help.
