FLY FISHING MEMORABILIA: A collection of books, flies and letters being the property of the late Brig General Sir Percival Spencer Wilkinson, KCMG, CB. comprising two typed letters, 3 pages plus addressed envelope, from Forrest of Kelso on headed paper, July 1939 discussing the gift of 2 rods to Forrest , further notes Wilkinson’s father as “being the first to tie the “Wilkinson” & “among the first ½ dozen patterns used on the Tweed” etc., two Wilkinson pattern flies accompany the letter ,size 6/0, black eye hooks and a selection of 6 books from Wilkinson’s Library ,most signed to frontis, including: Henderson, W “My Life As An Angler” 1st ed 1879, Waller-Hills, J – “A History Of Fly Fishing For Trout” 1921, given to Wilkinson by Alan Brooke, later to become Field Marshall Viscount Alan Brooke, notation to frontis “In memory Of Many Days Spent Fishing”, Halford, FM – “Modern Development Of The Dry Fly” 1st ed 1910, some marks to cover and 3 others by Francis Francis, Taverner and Bridgett.
