Rare 1974 The World Golf Hall of Fame Enshrinees Silver Medallion Presentation Cased Set – this amazing set of silver medallions is No 3 of ltd ed set presented to John Derr Executive Vice President of the World Golf Hall of Fame and features the first 13 inductees to The World Golf Hall of Fame in Pinehurst North Carolina on Sept 11th 1974 – the first Honourees included Patty Berg, Walter Hagen , Ben Hogan, Robert T Jones, Byron Nelson, Jack Nicklaus, Francis Ouimet, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Gene Sarazen, Harry Vardon, and Babe Zaharias – each silver medallion is embossed with heads and shoulder portrait of each player and on the reverse their golfing achievements - comes in a fully fitted light stained mahogany case with an inlaid dedication to John Derr. The set was presented in 1975 to John Derr on the 2nd Inductee Ceremony held on September 10th 1975 and comes with John Derr’s official Programme together with his hand written notes, a letter from The Hamilton Mint plus 2x 2015 Inductee Programmes held at The 2015 Open Golf Championship in St Andrews. Note John Derr world famous Broadcast Journalist who after the war joined CBS radio in New York and was there as CBS made the transition into television. He was a member of the announcing team in the Masters tournament was first telecast in 1956. He was first executive director of the World Golf Hall of Fame in Pinehurst and later became president.
