An original first edition (1662) of The Experienced Angler: or, Angling improved by Robert Venables (author’s name omitted in first edition), printed for Richard Marriot who published the first edition of The Compleat Angler in 1653.  Signed ‘Mr [?] Grosvenor Gent his Booke’ and bearing the bookplate of angling author Keith Rollo, this example has been in private hands for many years. Leather binding, lacking the title and index pages, with some charming graffiti (believed to be contemporary with the edition itself) and old repairs to a number of pages. Though the condition of the pages is commensurate with the age of the book, the binding is generally tight.
