Rare and early 1889 St Andrews Golf Club presentation silver plated tea pot - made by Mappin & Webb and presented to The Secretary having served 20 years as Hon Secretary and Treasurer - the tea pot is engraved either side and inscribed on the one side "Presented By The St. A.G.C to Mr John Sorley for 20 Years Honorary Secretary and Treasurer of the Club" and on the opposite side engraved "St Andrews January 25, 188" Note The St Andrews Golf Club, is one of the oldest golf clubs in the world, was formed in 1843. The club is steeped in history and is proud of its heritage and golfing memorabilia dating back to the days of Allan Robertson
