Very Scarce Hand signed Kurt Hahn ‘A Memorandum’ dated 3rd September 1948 New York, a 38p printed booklet, inscribed to the front ‘To Sir Alexander Maxwell in gratitude Kurt Hahn’ stamped strictly confidential to page 1, ‘The Constitutional and Social Structure’, the report featuring some black and white photographs, published may 1948, a great collector’s item regarding an incredibly influential man, overall clean and in good. Note: Kurt Matthias Robert Martin Kahn 1886-1974 was a German educator whose philosophies are considered internationally influential and founded the United World Colleges, The duke of Edinburgh’s Award, Outward Bound and Salem. Kurt Hahn wrote very little in his life and believed his ideas were not original, but were drawn from many other great thinkers. His philosophy was based on respect for adolescents, whom he believed possess an innate decency and moral sense, but who were corrupted, he believed by society as they aged. Hahn’s values were concern and compassion for others, the willingness to accept responsibility and concern and tenacity in pursuit of the truth, punishment is viewed as a last resort.
