Hand Signed Viscount Waverley (John Anderson) handwritten letter to sir alexander Maxwell dated 01st January 1945 on 11 Downing street letterhead congratulating him for being in the honours list, signed by John Anderson, t/w another letter to Maxwell from the Governor’s camp Bengal dated 15th July 1936 also signed, both in good clean condition (2) Note: John Anderson 1st Viscount Waverley of Westdean, Sussex is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom, a legal system or largely hereditary titles in the United Kingdom. Died in 1958 was best known for his service in the Cabinet during the Second World War for which he was nicknamed the Home Front Prime Minister, He served as Governor of Bengal 1932-37, Home Secretary, Lord President of the Council and Chancellor of the Exchequer
