Napoleonic Wars/postal history poster issued by the French Postal Authorities in 1805 informing the French public that letters and packets addressed to French Prisoners of War would not be dispatched unless stamped as far as Dover – also that those who had forgotten to stamp their letters should go to the Bureau where they will be stamped and given to the next courier. Printed in French on green paper, weakness in original folds (easily repaired in our view), otherwise a strong image. Approx 44x35cm
