A remarkable poster from the end of WWII – Hamburg remarkable poster issued by the Mayor of Hamburg to his people, dating from the last days of WWII. Printed on a large single sheet of paper approx 57x40cm, paper a little browned and one small area removed from right hand edge, not affecting text. The poster urges the people of Hamburg to ignore the cries of Hitler and the Nazi hierarchy to continue with the struggle against the invading allies, and urges them to consider their future, saying that the war has been a disaster for the whole of Europe. It ends with the plea [trans] ‘God Help our People and our Country’. This is the first example of this extremely rare poster that we have seen.
