Judaica – fine indenture on two sheets of vellum dated April 28th 1748 being a deed of covenant to produce deeds and writings relating to ‘all that large messuage tenement or building commonly called or known by the name of the Jews Synagogue.’ Engraved portrait of George II to head of document, written in English in a neat secretarial hand, in good legible condition throughout, signed and sealed by 12 parties to base, and featuring an extensive schedule of documents relating to the property dating from January 20th 1650 to 1748. An important and historic document providing the history of ownership and tenancy of what became the first Synagogue in Britain.
