Judaica – extensive indenture on eight leaves of vellum dated April 6th 1748 being a release in trust for Benjamin Mendes da Costa of ‘all that messuage tenement or building commonly called or known by the name of the Jews Synagogue ...in or near Heneage Lane in or near the Parish of Saint Catherine Cree Church, London. Engraved portrait of George II to head of document, written in English in a neat secretarial hand, a little weakness in original folds, slight fading of a few words but generally in good condition throughout, signed and sealed by approx 16 parties to base. This property was the first Synagogue in Britain.
